Eva Gale has a great novella out at Phaze and I want to spread the word...

She's a bit on the shy side about this since it's her first published work, so let's support her and purchase the novella. It's only $2.00! You can buy a cheeseburger for that price. So, watch those hips and purchase something you can re-read forever.

Speaking of releases: Cassidy Kent's SUNSET KEY comes out this month...I'm think in a matter of days. Check with Phaze and look under SURGE! I expect you guys to go get this when it's out so you can tell me how much you loooooove it...LOL

THANKS!

Lazy Street

Don't know if it's the weather or the transitions in my life that's making me unproductive. I sit in front of the computer and it takes me hours to figure out what I need to do. I'm just getting started and I'm frustrated and can't seem to focus. I have to start up on my writing again and, frankly, I dread it. Not that I'm burnt out with the story...oh no...I'm just in this weird period trying to get up the energy to work again. I've got a job interview tomorrow so I'm kinda stressed about that, but I'm doing my best to keep up with my head. With the time change, it's really been screwing with me..funny how one hour difference makes a huge impact on your day. OK, I shouldn't make excuses but I feel like being lazy. This is my first real day off without resume posts, interviews, running errands..so I deserve to be lazy DARNIT! Yawn, I'm sleepy too. Maybe that's why I'm cranky.

Maybe I'll take a nap....yeah, that should solve everything.

The Procrastinator

Short-lived

It took me one whole day to realize that working at Paramount was so WRONG! Nothing against the studio...let me elaborate...as I worked, it suddenly dawned on me that entertainment just isn't for me. Well, not that kind of job, anyway. I guess there are people who thrive on taking those low-paying, grunt-work, slave-to-their-bosses kind of jobs and kiss ass to move up the corporate ladder--but for me, I just don't do that. Granted the glam of the industry and being on the lot was supercool, but the reality was that it was so ten years ago for me. I'm much older (and wiser) now and the only type of entertainment I enjoy is watching from my sofa with a can of Mountain Dew in my hand and the remote control in the other. Life has changed me, being published in book form is my goal and I don't have time to mess with "superstar execs"...sorry. Yes, you got it. I quit before I got too far in the thick of things and then it would be unprofessional for them to scurry to find a replacement. I was diplomatic about it and I can say I feel damn good. Yep, there's nothing like knowing your worth, respecting yourself, and being confident enough to walk away from what could potentially be a great big headache. I am not normally a quitter, but how I see it, my hubby is in the industry and when I do walk the red carpet it will be as his date to pick up the Oscar. LOL

Sorry folks, can't disclose any information about my work there as I signed a confidentiality agreement and would be liable... I know, I'm such the tease!

Guess What?

I landed a gig for a month in Publicity at Paramount Studios! What will I be doing? I'll tell ya.. I'm helping organize the Premiere for Mission Impossible 3!!!!!!! What do you think that entails? Working the red carpet, baby! That's right! For the next 30 days, I'll be learning the ropes, running around, pitching in... I'll be immersed in the entertainment industry in the event coordinating and this is going to be like no other event I've helped planned before. For the next 30 days, I'll give you updates on what I'm doing, who I meet, and the inside scoop on working my buns off in this job that so many are envious about. I think it's never as good as it sounds..but I'm willing to give you the truth behind this responsibility..and if it's boring, I'm good at fabricating. LOL

Hope you come back to read my adventures. Wish me luck..hope I get to run into some celebs and perhaps make contact and land something wonderful!

I'm out!

Writing zone

Author: Jax Cassidy // Category:
Haven't been writing in 3 weeks except for filling out promotionals for my upcoming releases. It's a really tough battle with the brain to be in writing mood. I woke up at 9:00AM and made sure my partner in crime was up too. We go for our usual writing at the local cafe in the mornings: Saturdays and Sundays, so there's no sleeping in!

We're going over story ideas and thinking that we should enter another contest. Not that we don't have enough to do, but it would be good if we could promote as many releases as we could. LOL

I've had my latte and I still feel yucky. I spent my first free week working at home and then I ended up going to interviews on the days I didn't work. It's not very fun. I'm suppose to have two chapters done on my WIP before my writing partner gets back from visiting her parents. I guess I should get into the writing zone, but there are too many distractions to count. I'm barely able to keep my eyes open. Oh well, I should force myself...so I will.
