Stickin' it to the Man...

I did a bad bad thing... on Friday I was fed up and put in my two weeks notice. Okay, I know I got a double promotion and I should have been thrilled, but do you really think an artist like myself could handle a five year commitment to get into Commercial Real Estate and love it. NOT -- I would rather jump off the roof of the building than to be subjected to a company that works you to death, don't deliver on their promises, and pretty much give me no reason to love it. Granted I had a chance to travel, a spiffy title and lots of PR with political heads..but I'm not cut out for that stuff. I'm a mess, a reject from the Grunge era and I have no desire to be bossed around. Maybe I just need to be my own boss, that would be swell. Anyways, my superiors weren't very thrilled with my decision but they didn't try giving me a raise Adios! I'm happy about finding other prospects. One of these days I'll land my dream job, until then.. I'll keep on chugging along.

Onto other news. Lisa, her beau and his friend, and I went to the King's versus St. Louis hockey game and let me tell you -- it was Freakin' AWESOME. The third quarter was the most intense game I've ever witnessed in hockey. If you've never gone, you should. It's nice to sit a row back from the glass walls because you see, hear, and feel the action. Jeez, it was beautiful and I even witnessed a FIGHT. Yes, my beloved Kings won 3 to 1! About darn time! I was losing hope as they have been on a losing streak. I can say it was the highlight of my weekend.

Tomorrow marks a new week and I'm counting down the days when I can clear off my desk (chuck everything in the recycle bin) and say "have a nice life"..

Crap, I'm unemployed.

Anyone wanna give me a job. LOL

I'm still so proud of you! Don't worry about being unemployed -- someone with your talent and drive isn't going to have to worry about sitting around the house. You'll be snapped up in no time. And by someone who appreciates you and your personal time!

There is no one I know better suited to being their own boss than you. Hang in there.

Good for you, Jax! It takes guts to dump a job that's sucking the life out of you. You won't regret it!
